Gary Kerr

Board Member
Dr. Gary Kerr most recently worked as the Chief Pharmacy Officer for Baystate Health in Western Massachusetts for eleven years, having served as the Director of Pharmacy Services there for the prior eleven years.
 
He has over 47 years of progressive Pharmacy leadership experience spanning retail, managed care, clinical, specialty, hospital-health system, trade association, and academic segments.
 
Dr. Kerr is a Past President and a Fellow of the Massachusetts Society of Health System Pharmacists (MSHP); he also served on the Governor’s Special Commission on Sterile Compounding. In 2013 and 2016 he was awarded the MSHP Outstanding Service Award.  He has also held leadership roles at Premier Inc. and American Society of Health System Pharmacists.  He has served on faculty for the University of Connecticut and Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS); he is currently a Visiting Professor at Providence College in the graduate level pharmacy business curriculum.  He has extensive experience with Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committees and continues to present nationally on key Pharmacy topics.
 
Currently, he is the President of the Health System Owned Specialty Pharmacy Alliance (HOSP), a Trustee for the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and the Chief Pharmacy Advisor for Ocus Health/Ocus Rx.
 
He received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and his Doctor of Pharmacy Degree, both from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. He also earned his Masters of Business Administration in Health Care at Western New England University; he attended St. George’s University School of Medicine, Grenada, W.I.
